Big Time Rush heartthrob James Maslow will be taking on a role on the new hit Nick At Nite show See Dad Run. James will join Scott Baio who has made his mark in family sitcoms as Chachi in Happy Days and Charles in Charge in the first scripted comedy from Nick at Nite. After Scott Baio’s character, David, sets up a reunion with his former TV son, he realizes that a lot has changed since he last saw the once-so-bubbly Ricky. See Dad Run is currently in production on the former Happy Days stage in Los Angeles and this is your opportunity to join the cast. The casting directors are now taking applications for extras and day roles in the hit comedy series. Do not miss out on your chance to be on the Nick set and apply now.
See Dad Run features David Hobbs who has spent the last decade playing the perfect father on one of TV’s biggest sitcoms. But when the series ends and his wife resumes her own television career, he finds himself cast in his most challenging role to date: handling the day-to-day needs of three kids who’ve grown accustomed to not having him around. David soon learns that playing a dad on TV is child’s play compared to the real thing. In the premiere episode, ‘See Dad Lose Janie,’ David runs into a hiccup with his stay-at-home dad responsibilities when he misplaces Janie (Bailey Michelle Brown) and must scramble to get her back before Amy finds out.
The casting directors at Nick are now holding castings and auditions for the new comedy sitcom. If you are interested in auditioning please submit your information along with a recent photo and a basic resume. Please keep checking back often for more information on casting dates and times and as always leave us a comment and let us know what you think about the new Nickelodeon show.

1. Material. Never assume the copy will be easy or unsubstantial enough for you to “wing it” or cold read at the audition. It shows the casting director that you are not taking the audition seriously, and they would rather have given the appointment to someone else who wanted the job more than you.

2. Punctuality. Never arrive late or assume there is a “window” for you to fit into, unless your agent has instructed you otherwise. Scheduling auditions involves a very complex grid of variables, and it’s important to be respectful of that. Arriving late – flustered and unfocused – will never land you the job.

3. Wardrobe. “My agent just called me about the audition an hour ago, so I’m sorry for the way I’m dressed.” NO. You are a commercial actor, and you should expect last-minute auditions. Keep a bag in the trunk of your car with several wardrobe choices suited to the types of roles for which you are most commonly called. For example: casual lifestyle, fitness, corporate, or even a bathrobe. If you don’t have exactly what is called for (i.e. a white physician lab coat), create the essence with an oversized white button down shirt.

4. Headshot and resume. Don’t assume that you don’t need hard copies just because you’re auditioning for a commercial. Last week, we cast a commercial for a feature film director. You never know when you’ll be asked for materials, so you should always have them with you.

5. Over-preparation. Do not over-rehearse your dialogue. Yes, of course, you should be prepared and make strong choices with the material. However, you must not be so attached to your choices that you can’t take direction in the room. In many workshops, you are taught the importance of improve training specifically for this reason. Eye contact! Personally, we feel an actor should never make eye-contact while delivering sides. It feels awkward and it’s the quickest way to get them to look away from you while you are acting. Your safest bet is to look into the camera lens, unless they tell you otherwise.

Avoid these common mistakes and you will be more confident walking into the audition. Now, go get the job!

Are you a model, actor, singer, or dancer who thinks you have what it takes? Looking for your big break?

Do you have what it takes to be a full time momager to one of (if not all of) your kids? Kris Jenner does it with her children Kim, Kourtney, Klhoe, and Rob Kardashian as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles is her manager, as well as sister Solange. Joe Simpson (the “dadager”) manages both his daughters, Jessica and Ashley. And then there’s the Lohan’s… but we won’t go there. Below we have the story of momager Tamara Lewis and her 10 year old daughter Erica (names have been changed for privacy reasons).

Tamara Lewis knows well what the role of a “momager” entails, having managed her 10-year-old daughter Erica’s acting career for the past three years.

“Managing Erica is my second full time job,” says Lewis. Due to her regular full-time day job, Lewis says she’s not been able to take Erica to too many daytime auditions or shoots. “I’m fortunate that I don’t require a lot of sleep, given the schedule we keep,” she says.

One of the biggest mistakes a momager can make is taking the unavoidable rejection too personally, and then transferring that emotional baggage on to the child. “My mother was my manager and when I didn’t book a job she always delivered the bad news gently, without making me feel rejected,” says Martha Byrne, an Emmy Award-winning actress and co-founder of Full Circle Talent Group. “It’s extremely important for parents not to put their own nerves or expectations on their child. It will only put pressure on the child, and they won’t be able to perform at their highest level and will not book jobs.”

Momagers need core communication, organizational, and marketing skills to effectively support their child in the industry. Lewis handles every aspect of Erica’s acting career, including her finances and publicity. Lewis, who works with agents and managers on a freelance basis, highly recommends that parents don’t sign anything right off the bat, and that they document everything regarding the roles and payments received.

Networking is a key component to the momager job description, as well. Lewis belongs to several social networking groups to help Erica land roles, even without auditions. Byrne tells the parents of her clients to make friends with the other moms on any job to build resources.

But there are many challenges to being a momager. There are unions, work permits, logging school hours, and set conditions that must be met, among others. Another challenge is balancing the household if there are other children or a spouse. According to Byrne, sometimes parents get caught up in the business and the lifestyle, and they leave the rest of the family behind. This isn’t good for the child who is the center of attention either. If the child feels they are changing the family dynamic, they will feel guilty and therefore not enjoy performing, and the result will be a very short career.

“One simple rule: When your child says it’s not fun anymore, quit,” Byrne says.

Considering becoming a momager? “Make a formal decision to either commit to the role or hand it over fully to an established, reputable, honest, and hardworking talent manager,” says Lewis. “If your child is nonunion, you may be able to land more work for him or her than your manager. However, if you’re prepared to step it up and run your child to the city with great frequency and pay the union dues, than by all means, go with a great agent who will help your child land those bigger roles.”

With their current schedule, Lewis says that Erica prefers having her manage her career path. “These past three years of supporting Erica’s rising star have been wonderful,” she says. “It’s a very cool outcome of the work she enjoys doing so much.”

We are so excited to announce that The “It” Factor productions now has office space within WeWork in NYC !! For those of you who don’t know, WeWork Started just three years ago, and has grown from a concept in late 2009 to ten buildings and over 3500 members in 2013. But their hunger for building great spaces, empowering small businesses and connecting interesting people hasn’t yet begun to be satisfied. They are just getting started. And we can’t wait to grow with them!

Having unique office spaces, shared with other small businesses helps us network right from within our very office space. The “It” Factor Productions will get to see how other companies run, attend “community meetings,” where we can each bounce ideas off of one other, and help each other grow — ultimately forming strong networking bonds that will last a lifetime. From just walking down the hallway, we get an opportunity to meet other small business owners, and form connections with them.

Meaningful connections, both business and personal, are essential to the success of every entrepreneur, freelancer and small business owner. At WeWork, they are constantly striving to make meeting new people and having interesting conversations seem obvious, natural and effortless. From the design of the work space, to the features of their software application, to the ethic of the staff, to the parties and events at the buildings – WeWork does everything they can to support the idea that if one of us is successful, we all benefit!

All of us here at The “It” Factor Productions could not be any more excited to embark on this new journey with amazing company in WeWork! Not only will we be able to network within the office, form bonds with other companies, but we will still be able to continue to grow and help other people achieve success! With the help from we work founders Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey, who’s mission is to help businesses be more successful, we anticipate an expansion for the company.

We are even more excited that we will be able to work with other small businesses, both in and out of our comfort zone. Not only will we be able to work with up and coming designers, but also companies who make tools, healthy living supplies, social media companies and even Windows Store App labs! Together, we can all form events to hold right within the office — meaning we can have a fashion show featuring our KMM models dressed by up and coming designers who also have offices within WeWork.

Another amazing thing that WeWork offers to it’s members is the use of ZipCar. Most New Yorkers don’t exactly drive everywhere, but who wants to walk in the rain or snow? At WeWork, they allow you to use ZipCar – which is a rental car, but not your typical rental car. For starters, there is no key to get in the car. You can either use the ZipCard or your mobile app to scan yourself into the vehicle. Then, if you run out of gas, just use the ZipGas card – however, if the card doesn’t work, use yours and you will be refunded 100% when the car is returned. Pretty simple right? Right.

Other WeWork amenities include things like private conference rooms for important meetings — something that will help us out tremendously when we are putting together shows with our new friends and colleagues, lounges to take that well deserved break, a shared kitchen for your meal breaks or to get a cup of delicious hot organic coffee (which we can now share with our new friends!) or maybe even a craft beer or two! They also have the fastest WiFi available, private phone booths and black and white and color printers and copiers.

CEO Alycia Kaback says “Working in the same buildings as AMC and Showtime and with names like Nigel Barker, all of us can’t wait to make stronger connections, and really network with all of these amazing people. Really work together and build amazing partnerships with them, and help each other develop our brands. We tell all of our talent everyday that networking is what this industry thrives on, so we are here to show them first hand how well if works.”

“We will also be leveraging our partnerships within WeWork and our already established connections in sports, fashion and entertainment to form a division of the company that will be bridging the gap between Hollywood, Fashion, Sports and Silicon Alley. In basic terms, we’re connecting early and mid-stage companies with celebrities for endorsement and partnership deals,” adds Kaback.

With locations in both NYC and in Los Angeles, WeWork is one of the leading shared office spaces in the country — and they are hoping to be expanding yet again in the upcoming year. With nearly 4,000 members, everyone at The “It” Factor Productions is looking forward to this new adventure at WeWork!

She will also begin filming Avatar 2 in the upcoming months.

She is known especially for her role of Ellen Ripley in the four Alien films: Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien Resurrection. Other notable roles include Dana Barrett inGhostbusters and its sequel Ghostbusters II, Gorillas in the Mist: The Story of Dian Fossey, Working Girl, The Ice Storm, Galaxy Quest, Prayers for Bobby and Grace Augustine in Avatar.

Weaver has been nominated for three Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards (one win), two Emmy Awards, six Saturn Awards (two wins) and seven Golden Globe Awards, winning two in 1988 for Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl, becoming the first person ever to have won two acting Golden Globe Awards in the same year. She was also nominated for a Drama Desk Award and a Tony Award.

Her 1986 Academy Award nomination for Aliens is considered as a landmark in the recognition of science fiction, action, and horror genres, as well as a major step in challenging the gender role in cinema. Weaver progressively received fame for her numerous contributions to the science fiction film history (including minor roles in successful works such as Futurama, WALL-E, Paul and The Cabin in the Woods) and gained the nickname of “The Sci-Fi Queen”. She played the lead role in USA Network’s Political Animals miniseries as Elaine Parrish, a divorced former First Lady and Governor of Illinois, as well as the current Secretary of State.
