How did you get started with KMM?
I was scouted on the street with one of my friends and at first, we thought it was a joke, but then decided to give it a shot. We came in for an open call at the South Street office and then went from there.
Was modeling/acting something you had considered before?
I had always considered it and wanted to do it. When I started watching Entourage, I realized it was what I wanted to do.
Before I was scouted, I wanted to find an acting school and some way to get into that business. When I went to the open call, I realized this was pretty cool and could be my shot at getting to New York. At the second interview, I met with Nicole and I was given the opportunity to go to New York and attend a VIP Talent Connect event.
You went to the VIP event in September, what was that experience like?
It was a great experience, being able to listen to the success stories and how they did what it took to become successful. It also provided me with a great opportunity to meet certain people in the industry, like Robert Russell who is the former VP of Warner Brothers Casting, and other casting directors.
What jobs have you done so far?
So far I’ve only done the hit CBS television show Unforgettable for 2 days. [Read the original story here: Kaback Models on CBS's Unforgettable.]
What was that experience like for you?
It was really something. There was a lot happening on set and I was able to learn a lot. People may think it looks easy with what they see on TV, but it takes a lot of takes and you are on set for endless hours just trying to get the right one. It was a good ride though and even though I’ve only been back home for a day, I miss the action and being on set. It’s a fun and enjoyable experience. I didn’t get to meet any of the stars of the show, but they walked past me and it was cool to see them in action. I have never laughed so hard than when I was on set hanging out with the group I was with, which also included other KMM models. All of us KMM models are so excited for the next casting because this was such a great experience that we all enjoyed! I’m not sure yet when the episode is going to air though.
What are you looking forward to in the future?
Just to keep moving up. I want to keep getting booked for commercials, TV, reality, anything that will keep me going up in the entertainment industry. I would like to get a waiver, hopefully soon, to eventually get speaking lines and I want to take acting classes with Robert Russell, who I’ve met through VIP.
Have VIP and KMM helped you achieve your dreams and what you wanted to achieve?
Yea, it has gotten me this far, so yes. I didn’t even think I would make it through meeting Nicole and be given the chance to go to New York, and I did. Things keep happening and I’m excited for the next one.
If you could be in any movie or TV show, what would you want to be a part of?
I would want to be in a movie working with Robert DeNiro and any type of mobster movie. I love those Italian movies, like the Godfather. For a TV Show, I would want to do something on Nickelodeon, so I can have those funny moments and do some acting. I would also like to do Law and Order and maybe play a victim.
What would be your advice to people coming in to KMM who might be skeptical?
Do your research and read up on the people’s success stories and what KMM is about before judging. Be calm and be yourself, but also look interested and be interested. Don’t be a boring person; have a personality, an attitude and good intentions and be nice to everybody. TV doesn’t like boring people.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I paint. I’m an artist so I paint and I draw. I like to hang out with my buddies and I’m also trying to be a screenwriter, so I’m reading books about writing a screenplay. Right now though, I want to stick with acting. Maybe eventually I want to get into producing a film of my own. There’s nothing prouder than seeing your films be brought to life. Eventually, I want to produce and have people cry at the best of my work.
